Hello, Boop
Why we're building Boop, and how it's different from the tag in your drawer.
If you have a pet, you've probably owned a tag.
The kind they engrave at the kiosk in the pet store. Phone number on one side, name on the other. They work — until they don't. Until your number changes. Until your dog rolls in something and you can't read the engraving anymore. Until your cat's collar comes off in the bushes.
We've all been there. We built Boop because we got tired of being there.
What's different
A Boop tag is the same idea, made for 2026:
- An NFC chip so any modern phone tap reveals your contact details — without the finder downloading anything.
- A QR code as a fallback for older phones.
- A web profile that you control, edit any time, and lock down with three privacy modes.
- Lost mode that broadcasts to the Boop community within minutes.
The tag is a piece of jewellery for your pet. The brain is in the cloud, where you can update it.
What's the same
The promise is identical. If your pet ever gets lost, somebody who finds them should reach you in seconds.
We built Boop to make that promise as airtight as we could.
