Vizsla
Hungarian pointer — affectionate, athletic, velcro-bonded.
Vizslas attach. They want skin contact, they follow you to the bathroom, they protest when separated. They're also gun-dog athletic — daily hard exercise required. The combination is intense.
What makes them, them
- 44–60 lb adult; short rust-colored coat.
- Generally healthy; hip dysplasia, epilepsy in some lines.
- Lives 12–15 years.
- Separation anxiety pronounced if under-exercised or under-attended.
Safety — what actually goes wrong
- Crate training matters — left alone, they self-injure trying to escape.
- Daily 60+ min hard exercise; mental enrichment also required.
- Cold-sensitive; a Vizsla winter wardrobe is real.
