Yorkshire Terrier
Tiny, fearless, and forever convinced they're a Rottweiler.
Yorkies are 7 lb of attitude in a silk coat. Their bravery gets them into trouble — they'll square up to a Husky, then dart through the gap when their human looks away. Most Yorkie 'losts' are within a 1 km radius and resolve quickly with a tag.
What makes them, them
- 4–7 lb adult; single coat, similar to human hair.
- Long-lived (13–16 years).
- Patellar luxation, tracheal collapse, dental issues — schedule annual cleanings from age 3.
- Hypoglycaemia risk in toy lines under 4 lb.
Safety — what actually goes wrong
- Harness, never collar — tracheal collapse is a real risk.
- Stairs, beds, sofas — Yorkies break legs from jumps that look minor.
- Indoor potty pads in winter; their core temp drops fast in snow.
How Boop helps Yorkshire Terriers stay home
Boop Mini is sized for a Yorkie — a Classic-size tag would dwarf the dog.
