📢 Lost Mode
What activating Lost Mode actually does, and how to bring your pet home faster.
Three things, roughly in order: (1) a push notification to every Boop member within your alert radius (1–25 km); (2) the public lost-pet page at /lost/[slug] with photos, last-seen description, and your reward if any; (3) a printable, instant lost-poster PDF (Boop+).
Never. The map shows the last-seen point you chose (which can be anywhere — bodega, park, etc.) — never your home. Your contact details only show on the public page if you explicitly mark a contact as 'visible'.
Start with 5 km for the first 4 hours, then expand by 5 km/hour. Lost dogs typically move 1–5 km in the first day; lost cats stay within 500 m of where they escaped for the first 48 hours. The radius slider lets you increase mid-flow.
Tap 'False alarm' on the alert. We notify everyone who got the broadcast that the alert is closed. False alarms don't count against your standing — we'd much rather you over-alert than under-alert.
